About Michael Balcer

My Credentials

I was born in New Jersey and grew up in Northwest Montana in a town called Libby, which is about 100 miles to the west of Glacier Park. My family and I moved to Laurens, SC, where I completed grades 9-12. I played football, basketball and ran track as an athlete for the Raiders of Laurens High. I graduated from The University of South Carolina with an Exercise Science degree and have worked as a personal trainer for 26 years. I attended The Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy in Charleston.

I have been a South Carolina (#2266) licensed massage therapist for 25 years and performed over 50,000 sessions during that time. I worked extensively with a chiropractor for 20 years, where I was the Program Director of the Massage Therapy Program. During this time, I massaged clients from all walks of life and have enjoyed every bit of it! I have also worked with athletes from the NFL, Major League Baseball, 2 medal-winning Olympic athletes, South Carolina Stingrays Hockey Team, and various college/high schools. In January of 2020, I started working for myself and started Re-Formed Therapeutic Massage. My mission is to listen to my clients' needs, design treatment plans, and help them to "Re-form" their bodies into healthier physical bodies! I am married to my beautiful wife Meg. We have two wonderful daughters and two cute dogs.
